Progress!

Hi All!

I wanted to wait until I had some substantial updates to offer, so at last, here I am!! I cannot thank you enough for all your support and encouragement over the last few weeks and months. I am making progress toward India, slowly but surely. One of the biggest steps I've made toward the trip is moving home for the few remaining months until we depart. I've been enjoying my time in Santa Rosa, and am picking up as much work here as possible.

Financially, I am much closer to my goal! Thanks to hard work, lots of saving, and your generous contributions, I have made $1750 toward the trip. Only $1500 to go! All of us on the team are now beginning to get to know each other, and I am excited to meet these people in just two short months.

Emotionally, these last few months have been a roller coaster to say the least. I've had a lot of fears and doubts about this trip, my future, and my faith. While part of me wishes I could bypass this stage, I recognize its importance. If I'm to live a life that is wholly devoted to Christ, then I must be one hundred percent certain of what that looks like. How much am I willing to sacrifice? How much am I willing to trust in Him? Is "faith" something I live in every day, or is it just something I profess to have? I think faith, like love, is not just something you have, it is something you do. I am learning to "do faith", and it's a challenge and a struggle, but it is very good.

Well, that is it for now! Here is an article that my sister posted recently for all to read if you're interested. It is a good reminder to me of why I am going on this trip.

With love,
Sara
