God's Crazy Provision

Hey guys! I wanted to update you on the India situation, as I am truly overflowing with gratefulness to God at the way things have panned out lately. A week ago yesterday, the 15th of May, I was scheduled to send in a $500 payment to G.O.D. - and hadn't a penny of it. I was strangely peaceful about the situation and assumed, as I have been doing a lot lately, that one way or another, the money was going to get to them and God was going to provide for me, as He always has. Sure enough, that week I was spontaneously showered with babysitting jobs, I received my California tax refund, signed on to a freelance writing website through which I can get consistently easy, interesting work, and received a $50 donation from a friend from school who I had not expected to financially support me at all. By Friday, I had more than the necessary $500 in my account, and the check was in the mail.

In a time when our economy is less than stellar (I'm putting it nicely), I have not had any trouble finding regular work. And not just any kind of work, but work that is right for me and my situation, work that applies my skills and work that gives me the time and space to think over and process the many things that have happened in these last few months. I need that. A few weeks ago, I was fairly devastated over the fact that I had not obtained a job with the Census Bureau. Right now, I could not be more grateful for that fact. I am so much happier with the work that I have, and through this whole process, I have truly seen the hand of God and can say that with absolute surety.

I can't think about this situation without feeling a little unnerved. I asked God to show me his provision - I asked God to show me tangible results of his work in our lives - and he did. I find that pretty incredible, and in a way, a little scary! God is really there and He is really providing for me! Madness, truly madness.

Anyway, just a little anecdote to encourage and hopefully bless those who are supporting me throughout this process. I love you and I am so excited to keep sharing with you all that God does and is going to do!!
