Bio

Sara Davis was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. Homeschooled for the majority of her primary education, she spent much of her youth reading, playing soccer, learning to play piano and cello, and dancing ballet. She studied Cinema and Media Arts at Biola University, where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree, and immediately went into the work force in Hollywood as a receptionist at a post-production house.

It took about one month for Sara to realize that working and living in Hollywood was not all she had hoped and dreamed it would be. After a miserable 8 months of working full time, she began to look for new opportunities. She had heard about a nonprofit organization in Tennessee that her cousins were already involved with. Taking a leap of faith, she signed up with G.O.D. Int'l to travel to India on a 3-week "Da Mission" trip, an immersive experience coupled with intensive Bible study. She came back reeling. Certain she could never go back to Hollywood, or continue on a conventional career path, Sara began to make consideration for how she could be involved in serving God overseas. Six months after returning from India, she moved to Nashville, TN., where she enrolled in the Institute for Global Outreach Developments International and began to prepare herself to be a development worker in rural Latin America.

Sara has been a student at the Institute for 4 years. She has nearly completed her Biblical Studies Degree. She is part of a team of about 35 individuals who are also preparing to work in Latin America. When she isn't studying, she manages The Arts at Center Street, a local theatre venue in Old Hickory, TN., writes for the Global Outreach Developments International website, and works as a wedding and birth videographer and banquet server. She feels blessed to have an ever-full, productive life, and gives thanks to the LORD for the opportunity to participate with Him in serving those who live in poverty and need, both locally and abroad.
